Students Create Zero Carbon Emission Solar Car
Graduate students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University presented their own racing solar car.
The project was named SOL and is intended exclusively for participation in racing competitions. It has a catamaran-like structure with roof-mounted solar cells, excellent aerodynamics and can reach speeds of up to 120 km / h. The skin is made of composite material, like in spacecraft.
With enough sunlight, the car fully charges in 7 hours, and the ride does not interfere with this process. However, for mass production, the manufacturing cost is still too high. SOL will participate in the American Solar Challenge on 14–July 22 in the USA.
Recall that the WISeKey startup will teach your car to pay on its own.
